our project

creating a world in a hidden hill in Tuscany

Agricola Ombra is essentially an ancient stone house lovingly restored, with olive fields, bee hives and endless woods to immerse yourself in.

Francesco and Caterina found Podere La Casina in 2016 and together created what they call “a world” — one that guests become a part of. It wasn’t born in opposition to their previous lives in the city, but rather as an extension that enriches them. Built by bringing along what they loved and leaving the rest behind.

«We were searching just for fun, and instead… it was love at first sight. Not an escape, not a rejection. Just the madness of falling in love with a forest and saying: let’s start over here.»

For a year, they lived in a caravan while dismantling and rebuilding with the help of friends, WWOOF volunteers, and travelers.

«The deeper meaning? It’s not about leaving a mark on the place. It’s about letting the place leave an indelible mark on you.»

Agricola Ombra today produces extra virgin olive oil, honey, saffron, and welcomes travellers from all over the world in its safari tents. It hosts yoga retreats, courses, presentations, meetings and celebrations, all immersed in untamed and wild nature.
